It's been a long time since we've covered sports titles in Digital Foundry, but with the arrival of NBA 2K21 on the new wave of consoles, we are seeing something genuinely fascinating here, using a proper generational leap in fidelity across the board. By and large, the quality of the rendering of every player is of top quality. The models themselves are intricately detailed with realistic skin tightening, perspiration, and facial expressions. Players look round the courtroom and respond to plays in real-time. It is not perfect, as there is a sign of the dead eyes' impact, but it's solid. Much like last-gen variations, 2K21 uses a fabric simulation for toddlers as well - as you move round the courtroom, the fabric flows and reacts realistically.

But the next-gen difference is delivered in a lot of ways, especially concerning substances, shading, and light. Primarily, based on the side comparisons, the skin receives a significant boost to the specular layer allowing encompassing lights to realistically play its surface. The players just look more realistic this time around as a result of this change, to the point where perspiration accumulates on the personalities the harder they work. All this brings the players .
