Shubman Gill is ready to bat on any order but he likes to open the innings. Gill, one of the Kolkata Knight Riders leading batsmen, told PTI, "I would like to start the innings if given a chance".
Asked if batting in the middle order was difficult, he said, "I don't think so. My focus is only on winning, whichever team I play for. The focus is only on scoring runs.
Gill said that UAE pitches are like Indian pitches and there will be no change in bat speed.
He said, "I don't think there will be any change in the bat because in India also we play on slow pitches. I think I can play on every kind of pitch. ''
Before leaving for UAE, Gill practiced for the Punjab team under Yuvraj Singh's patronage. Yuvraj wants to return to competitive cricket for Punjab.
Gill said, "This will greatly benefit the youth of Punjab." We practiced with Yuvi Paji. Talked on many things and it was a good experience.
Let us tell you, some time ago the Punjab Cricket Association requested Yuvraj Singh to withdraw his decision of retirement and become a player and mentor of the state team. After which, on Wednesday, Yuvraj wrote a letter to the BCCI and requested him to withdraw his retirement and play cricket for Punjab.
Yuvraj Singh can return to retirement and play for Punjab in domestic cricket and this can be confirmed on Thursday. Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) secretary Puneet Bali gave this information. Yuvraj had quit all formats of cricket in June last year.
He last played for India in 2017. Last month, Bali had asked him to take retirement and mentor the youth of Punjab and the left-hander has also started practicing.
