Jagex claims that "a brand-new experience that will play out as part the Elder God Wars storyline" will replace Duel Arena in the early 2022 timeframe, but no further details have been announced yet.

While the impact of these changes remains to be judged it is clear that they are some of the strongest that any studio has ever taken to fight external abuse of its systems for money. If successful, similar measures will be observed across the MMO area in the near future.

Jagex recently announced after 18 years as the most popular PvP arena, Duel Arena will be ending its presence in RuneScape and a brand new area has been added. RuneScape is set to introduce Het's Oasis that will have a brand-new terrain, new skills as well as two brand new mini-quests available to play.

The game will begin today with Oasis Restoration participants will be tasked to transform the Duel Arena following a cataclysmic earthquake that destroyed the entire area. Players will need to team up to make the the arena from "a blood-soaked fighting pit in which legends have long made a living from one-on-1 games, into a peaceful paradise."

Players will build the area and take on daily tasks that earn them rewards according to their performance. Those who take part in the community event will receive special event rewards including a brand new the crocodile's pet old school rs gold, a title desert-themed cosmetic armour, and the footwear of the 'Gators.
