It stings a bit, but the name of WOW Classic TBC Gold this principal post also made me immediately think of Bungie, with Destiny two. Them committing to item sunsetting for so long as they did... especially with the arrogance, stating that it is the right thing to do, despite all the legitimate criticism about it. They didn't care about all the participant time spent grinding for their desirable rolls, seeing their items power-capped, then having to re-grind the specific same rolls and weapon, just with a fresh power cap. They didn't actually make the new drops different in any meaningful manner like sunsetting was likely to do.

Like the title, you can assert they were totally incompetent, they wanted the boosted player time, or heck, maybe it is not black and white - they were fine understanding that their incompetence rewarded them, so they dragged their feet on addressing it until much more than a year later.

Wow has had 20 years of development effort and expertise thrown at it. Besides shitty decisions and systems... It works, the game works and contains a complete world constructed already. That is a lot more than we can say about a lot of mmos already. For the most part there are no game busting issues which prevent a large section of the player base from playing.

Everyone put in 20k hours into the game feels connected to cheap TBC Classic Gold it and it has to get better. . Right? Those 20k hours were not for nothing. . Right?
