Rs3 is still quite rewarding and they can push mtx with very little pushback in comparison with osrs (there's pushback for some of the worst of all, but OSRS Gold players generally applaud anything which produces the present situation less awful ). How lifeless rs3 is was exaggerated. It'll last another 5-10 years with active development and probably more if present trends stay.

Twisted-fucking-bow, the product that is still over 1b and is just ridiculously good? Theatre of blood equipment? Each of the 100m things, Dwarhammer etc., cerberus boots? What's worse is the money gap between gear tiers being just insane. Additionally, reminder that nearly all of the"new" articles is actually RS3 content with a paint job and the ability ceiling is pretty much tied to prayer ticks besides learning the fundamental mechanics and a few placement. I also personally hate the fact that even regular monsters are becoming something that you can not afk one bit because they just need to have some stupid mechanics tied to them.

The fact that robots are currently running amok doing essentially everything in runescape makes it frustrating. Rs3 supplies a huge variety of pve content that osrs doesnt and a number of people today like eoc more than rs3s combat. It's worth playing, just for different reasons. Sure they monetize the hell out of it, but it nevertheless has its perks.

Good article and a wonderful study, she covers the growth of microtransactions in RS3 and the worries which go with them well. Not convinced by the Jagex answers, bit too vague for me to think there'll be significant developments in terms of balancing real world cash against investment. While I see him playing it is really clear how many avenues there are to spend money.
