Panasonic GX800, this is the improvement of image quality of its new TVs

Last Thursday, May 9, we approached London's Soho, more specifically the Dolby Screening Room, since the presentation of the new range of mid-range curved tv price in BD, Panasonic GX800, took place. A somewhat special mid-range because, with its launch, the brand, in collaboration with Dolby, wants to democratize exceptional image quality on LCD screens, belonging to televisions in a price range that belongs to the balanced range of the catalog. Hence his motto repeated repeatedly during the event, 'More Hollywood to More Homes' which is revealed as the main key to his new project: take Hollywood to more homes than ever.

What does 'bring more Hollywood to more homes' mean? Well, the average purchasing power user will be able to glimpse cinematic content more in line with the intentions that its creators had when creating it. How do you get this? Well, thanks to the new series of mid-range televisions Panasonic GX800 and its ' combination of support for multiple HDR formats '. With the HCX processor manufactured by Panasonic, this new TV series is compatible with HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) and HDR10, as well as being compatible with the new Dolby Vision and HDR10 + dynamic metadata technology. Until now it was not possible to find on the market a TV with 4K LCD panel that was compatible with any of these two formats.

What does it mean that the new Panasonic GX800 TVs are compatible with dynamic metadata technology? The new HDR10 + technology calibrates the image by analyzing the variations, frame by frame, that exist between the different brightness intensities of the scenes. In the televisions that we know to date, these metadata are invariable, taking as reference the brightest scene of the video, adjusting to it the rest of the scenes and thus losing information present in the film or series.

During the show, we were presented with television without this new dynamic metadata technology in front of a television that did have it. Here are the images: on the left without HDR10 + and on the right with HDR10 +.

And not only will the video improve with Panasonic's new HDR10 + technology. The still image can enjoy the advantages of high dynamic range technology thanks to the inclusion of the new HLG Photo technology. Already shown in some cameras of the house, such as the LUMIX, HLG Photo allows offering more natural images with the widest dynamic range that may be possible.

And the fully cinematic experience would not be complete without a good sound. Therefore, the new range of Panasonic GX800 TVs will also be compatible with Dolby Atmos.

The interface of the new Panasonic GX800 TVs will try to adapt to the preferences of each viewer. It will be very easy to use thanks to the renewed user interface My Home Screen 4.0. The home screen has been reconfigured, including new shortcuts to the live broadcast of the different channels, streaming applications, and greater ease when connecting different devices. In addition, this new range of televisions will be compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

The price of these new Panasonic GX800 is still unknown, but we are assured that they will remain within the mid-range, bringing 'more Hollywood to more homes'. In the sample, we were shown a team compatible with HDR10 + whose price in stores was 800 pounds ( just over 920 euros) . These new televisions will be launched in sizes of 40, 50, 58 and 65 inches.
