What you're saying is definitely true

Buy OSRS Gold, Buy RuneScape Gold, RS3 Gold - RSGoldFast

.

Assuming $50/hr, that's ~$80,000 to OSRS gold develop this event. It costs about $40 in bonds to buy all the cosmetics, and that's not including leveling up the artisan, IDK how mathematics works out but skimming the numbers it'd probably be at least double that, so let's say $80. That means only ~1000 gamers need to cover this event in order for it to be rewarding, and that's not even including the whales who will buy everything plus a dozen of all the consumables, or even the many more who will put a few bonds into it but maybe not go all-in.

As an example, take Desperate Measures. It was formally declared about 3 months before launch, so you know that it had been in development a long time prior to that. It brought new resources, narrative development, etc.. Most likely this could have been multiple months of development with rather a large group, but just to prove the point, let's say it costs exactly the same as the Artisan event to develop this quest. Contrary to the previous case, it costs nothing for existing members to participate this content. The only way this makes money is if people return to the game and resubscribe to play this. At $11/month for membership, you'd need over 5000 gamers to resub in order for this to become profitable. That's 5x the engagement needed compared to some little MTX event, and this also is based on earning new or bringing back returning subs - something considerably harder to perform than getting present users to devote a little extra.

At the conclusion of the afternoon, Jagex is a company, and when they want to keep the lights on, then they can not manage to dump buckets of money into content that does not bring in revenue. I'm not saying that this really is a justification to not develop new content on the contrary, they have to keep the userbase engaged or there will be nobody left to cover anything - but it does explain why monetized content appears to be prioritized and delivered more exactly than other content. As it stands now, the MTX content is what funds the true content. As for me, I quite like the way they are leaning of earning some permanent improvement with each event, even if this first one wasn't a huge success.

Good RuneScape gaming experience with engaging and Contemporary

Constantly pushing mtx to produce short-term profits is exactly what has become the downfall of rs3 for quite a while. That's also the main reason why the playerbase has been declining. Fantastic gaming experience with participating and modern content higher player count more long term gains. I truly liked the way Steve Jobs put it on technology firms losing their innovation and real product development when marketing and sales takes over the guide.

What you're saying is definitely true. Yes, and this is the reason they have been moving towards attempting to tie in certain permanent improvement with Buy RS gold every one of the MTX events - so that they are not just short-term gains but they do give some permanent value to the game - beginning with the graphical rework of the Dwarven Mine. Arguably not so well-executed this time, but I believe we can all agree it is a step in the ideal direction.
