The Tsugami America SS38MH-5AX sliding headstock lathe with B-axis is a chucker-convertible, high-performance automatic CNC lathe that offers full 5-axis simultaneous machining with a FANUC 31i-B5 control. This machine’s backworking overlap with live tool capability enables multiple tools in the cut, and shorter cycle times. This versatile machine weighs in at just over 15,000 lbs and is equipped with a total of 52 tools, including a 40-tool magazine, 10 tools on the back tool post, and an optional 2 tools on the deep hole drill holder.

Star CNC Machine Tool Corp.’s high-performance SD-26 Swiss-type automatic lathe was developed specifically to serve the high-precision machining requirements for complex, small parts up to 1" (26 mm) diameter for automotive, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment and medical-related products. The SD-26 Type S is equipped with double B-axis programmable units. The B-1 axis is a 4-spindle milling unit with 135-degrees of travel capable of programming simultaneous 5-axis control.

Mazak’s line of Syncrex Swiss-style machines are designed for higher volume, small precision-machined parts to provide superior surface finishes, fast processing and high-accuracy tight tolerances. The Syncrex 38/9 accommodates bar stock up to 1.5" (38 mm) and incorporates a removable guide bushing adapter that enables operators to preset guide bushings outside of the machine. The Syncrex 38/9 is also convertible and can be quickly changed over to run in chucker mode for added part processing flexibility.
