This ATEX 137 directive regulates how certain areas and zones are defined and classified to improve the safety and protection of workers potentially at reduce risk from “explosive atmospheres”. Within these classified areas, companies must use certified machinery and electrical devices and define areas where an explosive atmosphere could occur. Zone defines the type of explosive risk (gas-vapor-mist or dust) and Category defines the equipment required to meet the directive.
Bornemann Twin-Screw Pumps can handle virtually any fluid, including flammable fluid, regardless of viscosity, homogeneity, lubricity or abrasiveness. These are self-priming positive displacement pumps with external timing gears and bearings.
