RuneScape - I'm trying to make range my main combat skill

I found that almost 4/7 of players have skillscapes. I have decided to RuneScape gold craft one. I have also noticed something else. Combat skills can be up to 99 in the majority of instances for better precision, longer duration of battle and better hitting. These "skills" are rather than quests, are easier to acquire. You can earn more xp when you complete a task related to those abilities. Let me ask you a question: What is the point of firemaking, woodcutting and flying? These aren't widespread enough to qualify as a skill. The chart of rarity is as follows (1-10 on rarity [1 is most rare, 10 is least])

Okay, tell me if I forgot the skill. Also, don't ignore the interest. This is an analysis of my skillcape watch data for one month. I kept track of every skill cape I watched and recorded them. GotWater! I had the feeling of not having one.

I'm trying to make range my main combat skill (getting fight levels starting at range level). At the moment I'm using four range skills until I get to combat level. I had hoped to then attempt Dragon Slayer. This would allow me become a warrior once again. My main problem is hitpoints growing. Is it right to eliminate the use of iron arrows any time? I have 44 range. I also have a short, with iron, arrows. My "buddies," however, insist that I use steel-addy, even though I do have many iron bows. Also, I am limited in my ability to buy 2007 runescape gold flytch ironarrows.
