The final offer was the highest of 16 bids. The shoes were originally worn by Jordan in the 1984-85 season and showcase the black and red Chicago Bulls colors.

The shoes were originally gifted to one of Jordan's close friends, photographer Robert Crawford. The photographer took photos of Jordan at North Carolina and when he saw Crawford at a March 26, 1985 Bulls game against the Pacers, he signed them and gave them to Crawford. Jordan had a stat line of 38 points and nine rebounds in the game. The Gray Flannel Auctions listing reads: "From the day the sneaker line launched, Air Jordan's have always represented the pinnacle of sneaker design. The shoes are unmatched when it comes to quality, craftmanship, materials, innovation, performance and style."

"These sneakers launched Nike's legendary Air Jordan line which remains a smashing hit to this day," Grey Flannel Auctions Director of Operations Michael Russek said in a statement.

A pair of red sneakers worn by NBA champion Michael Jordan in 1984-85, at the start of his Chicago Bulls career, is expected to fetch over $100,000 and possibly much higher at an online auction next month, Sotheby’s said on Wednesday.
