EA had a fantastic idea when it offered up the capability to take a player from high school and college to the pros. After the mode debuted in Madden NFL 20, it looked like a very good, if unfinished step. Then this past year's version seemed to be a big step back. A souped-up, improved version of that mode will go a long way towards creating Madden NFL 22's launch a big win over it's predecessor.

Even though Face of the Franchise could use some help, the franchise mode is obviously the one in the center of controversy once the game's community is angry. Like the former game style, it does not need to be rebuilt from the bottom up. What it does require is some quality of life upgrades in order to make the initiation of the new match successful. It would help if EA paid the exact same kind of focus on reality that MLB The Display does with its franchise mode. The Display does not do anything particularly flashy, but the game mode functions like they really are running a major league leading office.

The Madden NFL series was similar in texture with its franchise style. In fact, it was so good that it really birthed a whole other sport which enabled individuals to feel as if they were both the head coach and general manager. Oddly, that seems to be about the time once the manner in Madden games fell off a bit.
