1. Kommune
Love K-pop? This karaoke joint is for you. We call it the ultimate playground for adults to bring out their inner child – just think Korean karaoke, exclusive Playstation 5 consoles, computer gaming lounges and an enticing selection of board games. Did we mention it has the best sound system from the biggest karaoke company in South Korea?
2. Ziggy’s
Karaoke with the complete VIP experience? Count us in! This KTV joint in Singapore gives you the ultimate party shindig with private rooms, suites, late-night dining options and – wait for it – a full-fledged bar with handcrafted cocktails. Perfect for parties, the deluxe and VIP suites sit up to 10 guests and come complete with a selection of party games, percussion instruments, in-room phone chargers, a champagne pong table and over 100,000 songs to choose from.
3. HaveFun Karaoke
Looking for a place to belt out a terribly epic rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody? HaveFun Karaoke isn’t your average KTV bar in Singapore. With four outlets islandwide, it’s home to 76 themed rooms and plenty of activities such as drinking roulette, darts machines, basketball machines, beer pong, board games and pool tables. There’s so much to do, you might almost forget you’re there to belt out some tunes.
4. Teo Heng
This well-loved karaoke joint is back and ready to rumble! No smoking or alcohol is allowed in its rooms, which makes it a pretty safe bet for family karaoke nights in Singapore. Expect clean and vibrant looking studios, exuding a warm and safe ambience. Aside from providing free WiFi at all its outlets, it also boasts the lowest rates for KTV across the island.
5. K.Star
Touted as the first themed karaoke studio, K. Star provides 25 thematic rooms to accommodate groups of six and up. Prices for rooms are based on hourly rates but for the ultimate value deal, get the drinks package that includes three hours of unlimited karaoke fun.
At the end of Boat Quay, you’ll find this American bar and KTV joint. It’s open till 3am on Wednesdays and Fridays, so when you don’t want a good night to end, you know where to go. Skinny’s whips up good classic cocktails with some fun stuff thrown in, so that bottle of wine you happen to have in your handbag? Put it away. Tip: there’s only one KTV room at Skinny’s, so book ahead (reservations are $200 per hour) and you won’t have to resort to gatecrashing someone else’s party. Not that we’d ever try to do that…
7. Ten Dollar Club
Living up to its name, this is the place for a fun sing-along session with your mates – it won’t burn a huge hole in your pockets. At $18 per session, you’ll get the bare karaoke essentials as well as free-flow hot and soft drinks. You’re even allowed to bring outside food just in case all that belting makes you hungry!
8. Cash Studio
If you’re looking for top-charting songs or classic oldie hits, Cash Studio has it all. Britney Spears and Mariah Carey would be proud! But what’s more interesting about this karaoke spot is that it’s known amongst fans of Japanese and Malay music for having a good assortment of J-pop, J-rock and uber sentimental Malay tunes in the mix. If the room is vacant after your designated timeslot, these folks might even let you stick around a little longer!
9. Party World
You can’t think of karaoke in Singapore without Party World immediately coming to mind. This KTV institution offers a gamut of song choices in a variety of languages – including Madonna’s Like A Prayer and Bad Boy by Red Velvet. Prices are reasonable and even include alcohol. What’s a karaoke party without booze, right?
