Runewords are plentiful in Diablo 2 resurrected items, and you may be wondering how to obtain the Ancients Pledge runeword, which is located in the Ancients Pledge area. Runewords provide a variety of benefits to your character, but their true value comes from the fact that you can customize which benefits you receive by selecting which runeword to apply to your socketed gear. Ancient's Pledge is not the most powerful rune, but it is extremely useful due to the fact that it is very inexpensive to produce. Another advantage of this runeword is that it can be obtained very early in the game's normal difficulty, whereas other runewords can only be obtained in the nightmare or hell difficulties. It requires the use of three runes in order to be created. Please continue reading for information on how to resurrect the Ancients Pledge Runeword in Diablo 2.

The correct runes for completing the Ancients Pledge will be awarded to you once you have completed the Rescue on Mount Arreat mission in Act V. The runeword combination 'Ral Ort Tal' in that order is required for the Ancients Pledge. It is critical that you apply runes in the proper order. Placing Ral in the topmost socket, Ort in the middle, and Tal in the bottom is the recommended placement. Despite the fact that it does not provide anything particularly noteworthy, it has the ability to raise resistance. When you're in Hell or Nightmare, this straightforward method can be extremely useful to you.

The rune has a variety of effects, including resistance to fire, lightning, and poison, among others. It also has a large number of defensive bonuses to offer. These can include anything from increased defense to dealing damage to Mana.

The Effects of an Ancient Pledge

Fire Resistance 35% Lightning Resistance 35%

35% of the populationBonuses for the Poison Resistant Ancient Pledge

Defense is increased by 50%.

Mana is reduced by 10%.

Poison, lightning, and fire are all resistant to +13% (48% total).

Cold resistance has increased by 43%.

To be able to create the runeword, you must be at least level 21 and equipped with a 3-socket shield. You can use this to augment off-hand armor that has three sockets (for example, a shield on normal difficulty). If you don't want to wait until the end of Act V to complete the quest, you can obtain these runes earlier. Both Tal and Ral can be obtained by trading with the Countess boss in Act I, The Forbidden Tower. In Act IV, you have a chance of encountering Tal or Ral who have fallen from the Hellforge. Throughout Act III, there is a small chance that these runes will be found.

Ort is a little more difficult. This can be obtained from the Countess in Act 4 at the nightmare level and higher. By using the Horadric Cube, you can transmute three Ral runes into a single Ort rune if you prefer it in its normal form. Act IV is also where it has a slight chance of dropping, particularly if you have a high magic find.

The Horadric Cube can be used to create all of the runes required to complete the Ancient Pledge. For more information, please see our Diablo 2 resurrected items Horadric Cube Recipes guide. The Ancient's Pledge runeword is not the only one that can be applied and used in normal difficulty and early in the game, but it is the most common.
