ClearLay™ rigid vinyl film and sheets (PVC)

ClearLay is a rigid vinyl film (polyvinyl chloride, or PVC) that is the economical answer for many plastic film applications. ClearLay’s versatility makes it a great choice for thermoforming, die-cutting, welding, gluing, and folding applications. The low cost of vinyl combined with its high durability makes it well suited for packaging, graphics, overlays, stencils and protective coverings.Get more news about rigid PVC film, you can vist our website!

Every thickness of ClearLay film and sheet we stock is available in clear, and we offer five transparent colors in .005″” mil. On a custom order basis, we offer matte film and press or roller polished sheeting. Generally, clear, white, and black in both gloss and matte finishes are widely available, and any transparent or opaque color is available on a custom order basis.Rigid PVC is a strong, stiff, low cost plastic material that is easy to fabricate and easy to bond using adhesives or solvents. It is also easy to weld using thermoplastic welding equipment.

PVC is frequently used in the construction of tanks, valves, and piping systems.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a flexible or rigid material that is chemically nonreactive. PVC offers excellent corrosion and weather resistance. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is a good electrical and thermal insulator. The most widely used member of the vinyl family, PVC may be cemented, welded, machined, bent and shaped readily.

There are three broad classifications for rigid PVC compounds: Type I, Type II, and CPVC. Type II and CPVC offer better heat and chemical resistance as well as greater impact resistance.
Type I: a normal impact corrosion resistant material offering the highest chemical resistance of all PVC grades. It is recommended for applications where the concentration acids or alkalies are high and the normal working temperatures are low (below 140 ºF)
Type II: a high impact corrosion resistance sheet that can be used in areas where high impact resistant is required. It has excellent thermoformability and will not support combustion.
CPVC: a high temperature chlorinated PVC that has excellent corrosion resistance and is easily fabricated
