আবূ হুরাইরাহ (রাঃ) হতে বর্ণিত আছে, তিনি নবী (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম) কে বলতে শুনেছেনঃ যখন বান্দা ভাল-মন্দ চিন্তা না করেই কোন কথা বলে, তখন সে নিজেকে তার কারণে জাহান্নামের এত অতলে নিয়ে যায় যা পূর্ব ও পশ্চিমের দূরত্বের সমান । (বুখারীঃ ৬৪৭৭,৬৪৭৮, মুসলিমঃ ২৯৮৮)
