Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Riva Ganguly Das has said that the rail communication between Akhaura of Bangladesh and India's Agartala will begin by next year.
The rail link between Akhaura and Agartala will be completed by June 2021, revealed the Indian envoy while visiting the construction work of the rail line in Akhaura of Brahmanbaria on Sunday morning, according to media report.
The rail links between the two countries will be started in the same year, Riva Ganguly said.
Mamunur Rashid, engineer of Indian construction company IRCON International informed that Tk 477 crore will be spent for the 15-kilometre Akhaura-Agartala rail project.
Mentionable, Bangladesh Premier Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi inaugurated the project through video conference on September 10, 2018.
