বিশ্বজুড়ে আতঙ্ক সৃষ্টিকারী করোনাভাইরাসে চীনে সরকারি তথ্যে এখন পর্যন্ত মৃতের সংখ্যা ৫৬৩ জন। করোনায় আক্রান্তের কারণে বিশ্ব থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে পড়েছে চীন। এরইমধ্যে যুক্তরাজ্যে করোনাভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত আরও এক ব্যক্তিকে শনাক্ত করা হয়েছে। এ নিয়ে দেশটিতে তিনজন রোগী শনাক্ত হলো। ইংল্যান্ডের প্রধান মেডিক্যাল কর্মকর্তা প্রফেসর ক্রিস হুইটি বিষয়টি জানিয়েছেন।
এ ব্যাপারে বিবিসি'র প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়, ওই ব্যক্তিকে যুক্তরাজ্যের জাতীয় স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থার (এনএইচএস) চিকিৎসা কেন্দ্রে নিয়ে যাওয়া হচ্ছে। অধ্যাপক ক্রিস হুইটি বলেছেন, ‘ভাইরাসের আরও সম্ভাব্য বিস্তার রোধে শক্তিশালী সংক্রমণ নিয়ন্ত্রণ ব্যবস্থা ব্যবহার করেছি আমরা। আক্রান্তদের জন্য সর্বোচ্চ সেবা এবং এর বিস্তার রোধে জরুরি পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছি।’
যুক্তরাজ্যে করোনাভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত অন্য দুই রোগীর উভয় চীনা নাগরিক। তাদের রয়্যাল ভিক্টোরিয়া ইনফার্মারি সংক্রামক রোগ কেন্দ্রে চিকিৎসা দেওয়া হচ্ছে।
