Bulk molding compound, also known as BMC, is a thermoset plastic that is specially formulated for compression and injection molding applications. It contains inert fillers, such as calcium carbonates, limestone, and hollow glass spheres suspended in a unsaturated thermosetting polymer resin. The polymer is usually polyester or vinyl ester which undergoes crosslinking and curing when heated.
