How an Ambulatory ECG Works

An ambulatory ECG works by placing electrodes on the patient's chest that are connected to a small, portable recording device by wires. Modern Holter monitors are completely wireless and the electrodes transmit the ECG data to a small recording unit worn on a waist belt or strap.
